Uncategorized Partnership with Cash for Kids

cash-4-kids

We are thrilled to announce a new partnership with cash for kids, the charity run by Hallam fm and Magic am The charities aim is to act as a ‘helping hand for local children’ and this is a perfect fit for kick4change, a social enterprise set up to offer just that, albeit in a slightly different way.

Joining forces seemed like a logical thing to do, and whilst parents are currently searching to buy football boots for their children’s new season and back to school, it makes sense to allow that purchase to be used as a vehicle for giving back.

For every purchase made by a Hallam fm or Magic am listener, we will donate £2 to cash for kids. All purchasers need to do is type ‘C4K’ in the blank box when prompted and we’ll do the rest.

So help us support this great charity by buying your football boots from us, and help cash for kids make a real difference. This promotion ends on 30th September, a date when cash for kids are hoping to raise £25,000 from a series of activities.

All money raised will go direct to the Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice. Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice provides day, respite and end of life care, family support, complementary therapies, and bereavement care to families across South Yorkshire and North Midlands.

We are pleased to announce a new partnership with Sheffield Wednesday’s community team. Headed up by Marcus Brameld, the team work tirelessly to support local youngsters in a variety of activities.

To celebrate the partnership, we donated some new 4sport boots to several youngsters who are linked to The Owls community programme. The clubs Social Inclusion Officer, Matt Bray (right of picture) posed with the children before the first home game of the season which saw Wednesday record a comfortable 2v0 win against Dagenham & Redbridge FC.

We look forward to working on future initiatives with Marcus and his team.

Uncategorized Helping Huddersfield Town FC to ‘Keep It Up’

We are delighted to be working with Huddersfield Town FC in support of their innovative ‘Keep It Up’ campaign. For every pair of boots a Town fan buys, we’ll donate £2 to the campaign, supporting both the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and also Town’s Academy.

htfcAll Town fans have to do is type in HTFC in the blank box when purchasing on-line and we’ll automatically make the donation to support this great campaign. Town’s mascots were photographed with the boots, under the watchful eye of local legend and club ambassador Andy Booth who commented:

“They’re really nice and with them aimed at young children it’ll give them a good bedding in before they begin to take football seriously.

I can still remember my first boots and I didn’t get them until I was 8, who knows, if I’d have had these boots younger I could have made a football career out of using my feet and not my head!”

Uncategorized The new season’s almost here…

And every parent will be wondering where best to go to purchase new boots for their children. Too often they will be faced with a costly price tag for the major branded boots that are more of a fashion accessory than suitable for growing feet. Perhaps worse still, the alternative is to settle for a cheap pair of boots that simply aren’t fit for purpose and won’t last five minutes.

Well with the introduction of kick4change’s new 4sport brand, all that has now changed. Not only are our boots fit for purpose, they are also stylish, full of quality and very affordable. Not only that, kick4change also allow their customers to choose a beneficiary of £2 of profits to a school or club of their choice!

The boots feature:

boots-01

- Velcro fastening straps (no more having to tie laces!)

- Rubber moulded studs (safer than blades and screw-ins)

- 15 studs (for better weight distribution and fewer injuries)

- Mesh inners for comfort (and no blisters!)

- Available in black or white and from sizes 8 to 3

- Only £14.99

So what are you waiting for? Simply visit the kick4change on-line shop and get ready to start the season in style.

firstnews_logo

We are excited to announce a partnership with First News,

the award winning weekly newspaper for kids. From 26th February children throughout the UK will be given the opportunity to design their own pair of football boots. Using an outline that we have provided, they are being asked to come up with designs that reflect the fact that the World Cup is being hosted by South Africa.

The pupil with the winning submission will see their design being put into manufacture and used on all the boots that we send over to Africa as part of this competition. Linked into our PledgeMySeat legacy campaign, the competition allows teachers and parents to introduce the idea of global citizenship to their children and pupils.

The child with the winning entry will also receive £100 in vouchers for themselves and £150 for their school.

You can enter from 26th February, with a closing date of 18th March. For details, visit www.firstnews.co.uk/competitions

You can also visit www.pledgemyseat.org to pledge your seat and receive your unique seat number to put on your entry form.

So get your crayons ready and good luck!

Uncategorized ‘Business in a Box’ opens in Bedale High School

We have today spent the entire day with 12 pupils from Bedale high school, introducing to them our new ‘Business in a Box’ initiative.

Enterprise in the national curriculum is gathering momentum but too often pupils lack the basic tools, ideas or products to make learning meaningful - thanks to ‘Business in a Box’ that is about to change.

Providing some basic tools, the seed of an idea and a business plan that can be populated and used as a road map, ’Business in a Box’ sets up pupils with a template for running their own business.  Their challenge then is to introduce the kick4change concept and our 4sport products to their cluster of primary schools, teachers, children and parents.

Hands-on business skills such as communication, sales, marketing, financial analysis, logistics management, cash handling, profit delivery, time planning and project management are all experienced in undertaking their challenge. In benefiting from a wholesale price, the secondary schools will also make a healthy profit that is theirs to keep.

We look forward to working with Bedale and witnessing firsthand the fruits of their labours. If the enthusiasm, energy and ideas from today are carried into the project, they can certainly expect to make a huge success of their first taste of enterprise.

Special thanks should go to both Dr Helen Thompson of Bedale School for sharing our vision and working with us, and Lynda Dixon of Enterprise Network who set the scene for the day.

Uncategorized POSH entertainment at half time…

posh-003We had the privilege of providing the entertainment at today’s game between Peterborough United and Cardiff City. The day was designated ‘charity day’, with Posh generously replacing their normal shirt sponsors with their three official charities of the season.

One of our partners the Free Kicks Foundation are one of the charities and we are grateful that founder Steve arranged for our Ambassador Brandon to showcase his football freestyle skills. 0 v4 at halftime, Posh fans chanted ’sign him up’, ’sign him up’ throughout his faultless performance and were soon joined by the Cardiff fans who were equally as impressed with Brandon’s skills!

Brandon’s performance must have inspired the Posh players as they came out a different team in the 2nd half and fought back to draw 4v4!

The matchday programme featured a full page on our legacy campaign ’PledgeMySeat’, with two Posh players, Gabriel Zakuani and Tommy Rowe, pictured holding their placard indicating that they were lending their support.

To mark the occasion of today, we have committed to providing £2 from each seat pledge to the Free Kicks Foundation. Simply type in ‘Posh’ in the field when prompted and your money will be donated to a fantastic charity.

Uncategorized Spreading some Xmas cheers with Curtis Davies

curtis1Christmas week got off to a great start, with us teaming up with Aston Villa’s Curtis Davies and NVA Management to hand out our new 4sport football boots.

At the event in Birmingham, organised by the Council, 50 disadvantaged children were invited to an early Christmas party, including disco, lunch and a visit by Santa.

Amongst the gifts handed out were boots that we donated and Curtis later signed and presented to the excited kids. A great day was had by all.

Curtis later became the latest person to Pledge his Seat, ensuring a new pair of boots will be sent to an African child as part of our 2010 legacy campaign.

More details and a picture of Curtis pledging can be found by visiting www.pledgemyseat.org
